Some Easy Ways to Help the Club

The membership committee strives to recruit new members and expand the breadth of activities the Club offers. When this committee was formed about a year ago, many ideas to attract new members were discussed. We haven’t pursued all of them, but we’ve made good progress on some.

We’ve started new activities that members wanted and that new members might like. We’ve started new publications like this newsletter and the new brochure, to tell the story of our active club. The web site has tons of information. And the new membership process is a little simpler and, we hope, faster. Add these things to all the activities we’ve always had, and our amazing building, and we’ve got a good story to tell.

Here are some things you can do to help keep up the momentum of growth in our club:
Invite a friend to bowl, or come bowl on your own, or in the Tuesday night league.
Use your key. Show a friend our beautiful Club
Come to the new book club. Bring a friend.
Join our avid pool players on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, or play on your own.
Play darts in the pool room.
Grab a board and play cribbage.
Tell your friend it’s simple to become a member. (We’ve simplified it.)
Read by the fireplace or in the members lounge.
Tell a friend about all the events at the club.
Add a non-member to the friends email list. (Just email the secretary.)
Invite a friend to dinner and hear great music and interesting speakers.
Pass on this newsletter which helps people get familiar with activities here.
Friendcon, Portland Camera Club, Comedy and the Portland Swing Project, all invite us to take part. Visit them and make new friends for the club.
Need a holiday gift? Try a gift membership.
Watch for the next Mah Jongg sessions.
Borrow a book from our lending library.
Borrow a jigsaw puzzle from our puzzle library.
Be a mentor for a new member.
