Friday Dinners: Good Food from Meet on the Street

Friday dinner attendance is doing well, and some of us think it’s because of the fine food from Meet on the Street.

It’s our kitchen that originally connected us to Brice Bowman-Laberge and Amanda St. Peter. They rent the kitchen to prepare food for their food truck, which can be found all around town. Last week it was the tattoo convention, while this week it was Westbrook Winterfest. They do lots of community events in South Portland and are popular regulars at the Hearts of Pine games, which have taken off.

Brice went to film school in Chicago, where he became a cinematographer, and later cooked in New York. Locally he has been at Street and Company and at Po’ Boys & Pickles, at Morrill’s Corner. Amanda’s work and background is more front of house, and many of us recognize her when she  dishes our delicious food on Fridays. She is from Portland, and has worked at Dimillo’s and the Grill Room.

Brice says he got tired of working for other people, so they started a food cart. “The first year went well and I was able to finance a food truck,” he said.

Meet on the Street cooks a wonderful variety for us, whether it’s tacos or the recent Thanksgiving dinner, it’s always great. Brice says he loves cooking Thai food.
