New Photos, New Tables, and Other Club News
New Photos
Each year the Portland Camera Club puts on a beautiful presentation of members’ work after our Friday dinner. This year’s show is this week, Friday, March 13, right after dinner and a brief business meeting.
It’s the work of nearly 20 photographers, who shared their photos with other PCC members recently. Past shows had an amazing variety of styles and formats, from pin hole to landscape to macro.
The camera club has met weekly at the Woodfords Club for ten years. It’s one of the country’s first camera clubs, and it began in 1899.
Also, President Richard Sawyer encourages those interested to attend a Monday meeting for free – they are from September to May on Mondays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The schedule is listed at portlandcameraclub.org. For an annual membership fee of $50, photographers can participate beyond meeting attendance.
The bowling league finished another session last week. A new short spring session starts soon. To register email Sarah Hipple: sarahbaldwinhipple@gmail.com
Consensus Around Tables
We’ve tried the new five-foot tables at two Friday dinners now. We had great comments from dinner goers. It’s easier to hear and chat at the smaller round tables, they say. And we can still get seven people around them. (Some of the six foot round tables were worn beyond repairs.)
